Diamonds in the Rough

Great movie featuring a Neil Diamond cover band. Saving Silverman posts will be dedicated to acoustic cover songs for your listening sampling pleasure. This week’s song is…

one of my all-time favorite covers. Partly, because I can still remember being 14 years old (I was already over 6′ tall by then, so I got away with it) and driving my mom’s Cutlass Sierra with the treble maxed listening to the original. And, secondly, because STP puts so much feeling into this incredibly sappy song.

I give you Stone Temple Pilots covering Pour Some Sugar On Me originally recorded by Def Leppard.

(incidentally… the mascot for The Arkansas School for the Deaf… the Leopards — that’s both terribly ironic and extraawesome at the same time!)

I am out of words now.
